Brady Crone was approved on Monday night to be the next Boys Basketball Coach at Monrovia High School. Crone takes over after future Hall of Fame Coach Brian Barber stepped down after the '25-26 season. Crone is a longtime figure in this community, teaching and coaching in the school district for 20 years. He has coached the Bulldogs at all levels of the program: from youth to middle school to high school, and has been an influential coach each step of the way. Crone will take over a program that is coming off its first winning season since 2020. Crone has had the privilege of being an assistant coach under two of the premier coaches in the State of Indiana: Barber and Kent Chezum. "Brady brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to our program. He demands the best out of his players and coaching staff," said DJ Smith, Athletic Director of Monrovia. "Not very many people know this community and school better than Brady. He knows what this program needs in order to succeed." "I am excited for the opportunity to lead the Monrovia Boys Basketball program and build upon the success that has been established over the years," said Crone. "Our players will be tough and will represent our school and community with pride, character, and discipline." The Boys Basketball team started summer workouts this week as they look to build upon last season.
